Taking a Vacation…

So here’s the thing.

I’m slightly bored with this blog right now.

And life has been getting in the way, or rather has been more interesting/intense/busy/overwhelming/stressful.

So if you don’t see a post from me for a while, forgive me, I’m trying to figure it out over here.

Blogging has become a chore rather than something I enjoy, and I’m trying to figure out why I would rather read, binge watch House of Cards and take photos rather than blog.

Maybe I need a break?

Maybe I need a redesign?

Funny since I applied for a Blogership back in February and was actually picked by the folks over at Blogher to volunteer in exchange for my ticket price. The irony.

I have a few obligations that I will keep up with ( my photography blog circles) but other than that, I think I’m going to take the month of March off. Yes, numbers will suffer, but I’m past the point of caring about numbers anyway. If I’m going to blog, I’m going to blog. The end.

I’ll still be on twitter and instagram. I can’t promise Facebook, but maybe.

I’ll still pop in on your blogs and Facebook pages and twitter, but that’s about all I can manage right now.

See you soon.

Top Five Favorite Christmas Songs

Thursday, December 19th, 2013

Christmas is next week. Have you been caroling? Have you been listening to your favorite Christmas songs?

I’ve got a few that every year that make Christmas official. Here are my top 5 favorite Christmas songs that I’ve got to hear. EVERY season:

  1. Silent Night by the Temptations.  You know you loooove hearing those voices in harmony and you know your parents loved it too. Classic
  2. This Christmas by Donnie Hathaway, because when you hear this one playing on the radio, it’s official. It’s Christmas time.
  3. Santa Claus go Straight to the Ghetto: who doesn’t like James Brown? “Hitch up your reindeer HUH
  4. Let it Snow by Boys II Men. Even though I hate cold weather, I wish just once I could listen to this song by the fireplace and watch it snow outside on Christmas day.
  5. And last, one of my favorites, All I want for Christmas is You  by Mariah Carey. This song just makes me dance and sing. It’s been one of my favorites for almost 20 years now. ( It came out in 1994. Feel old now? Great, my work is done.)So I leave you with a little visual of it from last year with Jimmy Fallon. Cause it’s great. LOL

  • To take a selfie with my Canon. And to post about it. Because I promised I would and I reneged( soooorrrry)
  • Go to bed by 1130 every night.
  • Stay within my allotted calories this week.  EVERY SINGLE DAY. ( except Friday when I have to sample one of Pookah’s gluten free cupcakes)

I AM GRATEFUL FOR:

  • A job.
  • A job that lets me go to the bathroom whenever I want
  • A job that lets me sit down….all…day…long
  • A job that lets me have lunch…every..single..day…
  • Pookah’s laugh. It’s soooo full of joy.( random there, I know)

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • I will continue all of the daily projects I’ve got going. And not half ass them
  • I WILL work out this week. I think that’s what’s been slowing down my weight loss.  I haven’t been exercising consistently.
  • I will start and finish putting together the photobook for Pookah’s 3rd year.
  • I will order the photos for the photo wall that I’ve had planned for 9 months. Cause this is getting ridiculous.

So that’s it. I’ll be back next week to update you on what happened! Don’t forget to go over to Dani’s blog and link up!

I present THREE Saturday Links around the web!!!

  1. This post is exactly what I talk about when you hear me say it’s not the camera, it’s the photographer!  Cause remember that these photos were taken with a point and shoot.
  2. Did you read Luvvie’s Recap of Scandal? No? Well get you a piece..
  3. This woman was about to go into surgery to have a double mastectomy. What she did before is just awesome.

That’s all for this week folks! What did you read this week?
